Trusting

There is power in telling the story.

Thank you for your prayers.

Once upon a time
I worked for an organization
that did fundraising.
I then went from there to 
work on a capital campaign
for another large organization.
Before that
I raised money to do church planting.

There is nothing crazier
than to know 
how to raise money
and not be allowed to do it.

After God called me to live by faith,
I was hired to direct a non-profit that was in crisis.
And I was responsible for their annual fundraiser.
I won't bore you,
but there were a lot of challenges.
And there was a serious effort to make sure I failed.

So, I brought in my prayer team
and we began to pray.
We sat with God,
and asked how much money we needed to pray for.
And God said,
"$200,000."

Well, things did not go well for the event.
It was a catered banquet,
and the previous director called people 
and told them not to come 
(after we paid for their dinner).
There were lots of empty seats with cold expensive dinners.

We kept praying,
and trusting God,
not our eyes.

And when the envelopes were opened,
the first check was $10. 
Meh.
The second envelope contained $20.
And the third one was a personal check for $200,000.

You,
artist and creative person,
are called to make a way for the coming of the Lord.
And in order to do that,
you have to learn to lean into heaven's resources.

In the Resurrection
we are called to create
the Kingdom on earth
in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The chaos in this world
is from trying to build kingdoms
in the power of the flesh.

George Muller said
the path to provision always
goes through the valley of difficulties.

The past few months were difficult.
Yesterday, during the National Day of Prayer in Concord, New Hampshire,
the State approved our reorganization.
Belonging House International is now official
and we will again be able to receive donations as a non-profit.

Listen to God,
and trust the process.
